Gogmazios

Bring the strongest Dragon weapon and build available, seeing as the last phase of the hunt is a Dragon Element Damage Check. The oil coating Gogmazios starts solid. Strike that solid oil with Fire to soften it. Dragon is weak against solid oil, so fire is the element to rely on until the oil changes. When the oil drips and sloughs off the body, it has gone liquid. Switch to Dragon at that point. Liquid oil also loosens a Compact Anti-Wyvern Gun. Grab one with the claw slinger, then charge it into the wings and the head to knock Gogmazios out of the air. Keep striking the monster while it flies in order to break its posture. In the last phase the oil goes gaseous, and Dragon hits hardest in that state. Keep dealing Dragon damage through that gas window in order to pass the Dragon Element Damage Check and weaken the nova. Pass the check, and Fabius raises a shield. A hunter can stand behind that shield to block the blast. Fail the first check, and high ground is still available as a place to hide. That cover works only once. Weapon fragments on the body break for materials once the oil is liquid or gaseous. Bring Fire Resistance Lv 3. Aquatic/Oilsilt Mobility helps on oil puddles, which slow a hunter and can explode.
